April 2004
We've settled into a routine. M-W-F's are dedicated to Di's physical therapy and remaining days are for day trips and everyday chores.
The park is now only about half-full with most of the snowbirds heading back home for the summer. We're walking about 3 1/2 miles/six times a week early in the morning while it's still cool out.
Some of the highlights this month are a visit to the Casa Grande Ruins in Florence, AZ, a drive up to Mt. Lemon, (which was devastated by fires a year ago), spending Easter with family in Phoenix, and an extraordinary hike up the Sabino Canyon trail outside of Tuscan.
Mountain lion sightings at Sabino
Canyon caused the trails to be temporarily closed.

On April 19th Don and I celebrated our 35th anniversary. We revisited the Arizona Desert Museum just outside of Tuscan. Sights included the hummingbird exhibit, native desert wildlife (including javelinas, mountain lions and prairie dogs), and especially facinating are the gold, russet and fuscia colors of the cactus flowers now in bloom. Afterwards we had dinner at a local resturant making it an enjoyable day.

We took advantage of our stay by scheduling Don's medical check-ups at which time he received a clean bill of health from his doctors.
On April 28th, we'll be driving north to spend a week in the Grand Canyon.
