Happy Easter
Spring has arrived at Abita Springs, Louisianna. The weather is pleasant
and the sun is welcoming. (temps in mid-70's) We're going to do some exploring during our 9 day visit. The resort is accessible to the "Trace," a bike path connecting Covington and Mandeville, Louisianna. We biked apoximately 20 miles to Covington, stopping to enjoy a cappachino at a local coffee house.

Don and Di at Oak Alley Plantation near New Orleans
We took a day-trip to the Oak Alley Plantation situated on the banks of the Mississippi River. The plantation was built in the early 1800's.
Later in the week we visited New Orleans, taking in the usual spots like Bourbon and Canal streets. We recommend purchasing the trolley day pass ($5) giving you unlimited access to the city. After strolling along
River Walk and The French Market, we had lunch at Jimmy Buffet's (Margarita Cafe) on the corner of Decatur and Talouse streets. We ended the day at a local Irish Pub (O'Flaherty's) where an incredibly-talented folk singer was appearing who played a variety of instruments and sang all the favorites.
We spent a week at Styx River RV Resort in Robertsdale, Alabama, then onto Perry, Georgia for the FMCA International Rally March 21-25th. It's held at the Georgia International Fairgrounds just off I-75. Don's brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Dot, who winter in Florida were also attending. We haven't seen them since last February while staying in Polk City, Florida.
The Oakridge Boys and Pam Tillis (daughter of Mel Tillis, country singer) are the scheduled entertainment
and there's lots of information available at various seminars. We also took a ride to Plains, Georgia, birth-
place of Jimmy Carter, our 39th president. He was in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday, but when he's home
he makes himself accessible to the visitors. (missed meeting him by one day!)

Dining at Bubba Gump's Shrimp restuarant
While camping at Edisto Beach State Park (on Edisto Island) we visited Charleston, SC (about 30 miles north) where we enjoyed a carriage ride and feasted on coconut shrimp at Bubba Gump's.
