July 2006
Di left to assist David and Jen with their relocation from Friendswood to Humble, Texas on
June 23rd. That left me with some time on my hands. But, what better place to be stranded
than Gunnison County, Colorado, a fly-fisherman's paradise.

Don's fishing report:
As a flyfisherman, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Fishing creeks and rivers that I had only read about...gently flowing mountain meadows and wildly rushing rivers alive with rainbow and brown trout. I also had a chance to reconnect with the philosophical side of the sport. The thrill of catching the largest trout of my life and the thrill of gently releasing it and watching it swim away. On July 17 the best catch of my life returned (my wife). The last week of July we moved to Estes Park, Colorado, just a few miles from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. While fishing in the park, I got to complete the "Colorado Grand Slam" (Rainbow, Brown, Brook and Cutthroat trout). Life is good!
