There are new CVS and Walgreen pharmacies on Groton Long Hill, but because we had a load of laundry to do, most of the Groton laundramats were out of business. What's up with that? Waterford now has new chain stores near the Crystal Mall on Route 82 with Linens and Things, Best Buy, Michael's (crafts store), Pier 1, Panera Bread, Barnes & Noble, etc. You just go away for a couple of years and everything changes. Guess that's progress.
Don enjoyed lunch at Pfizer with past co-workers. He was so happy to reconnect with so many friends and to see what everyone's up to. We hosted an inpromptu picnic at Bob Allen's house
and a get-together at the Charlestown R.I. Breachway and we're thrilled with the turn out. Thank you all so much for making it great memory.

Times like these make it so special. Thanks everyone!
Well here we are back in New England after a two year absence.
As we drove around Groton, CT and the surrounding areas, we
noticed some obvious changes. Our favorite local coffee house (Latte-tudes) was out of business. When we lived here in 2003, there was one in Norwich and one in Groton. If you must know,
we have become addicted to Starbucks. Yes, we make it our mission
to locate one when we arrive anywhere in the country.

But some things never change, like picking fresh
strawberries at Scott's in Flanders and enjoying
Rhode Island chowder at Aunt Carrie's in Point
