We found the August weather "on island" to be very unpredictable. Storm fronts bringing rain and winds have occurred without warning. So, weather permitting, we spent most mornings walking on the beach and evenings enjoying the sunset. We cycled the Confederation Trail several times taking in the beautiful scenery along the way.

On August 24th, we drove to Stanley Bridge (again in the rain) for the St.Ann "Lobster Supper" followed by another Ceilidh at the town hall. There's some amazing talent here with its' singers, fiddlers, flutists, steppers, and storytellers. The Islanders take pride in carrying on the musical traditions of their ancestors. Every Ceilidh became more enjoyable than the last.
On Sunday, August 26th, we drove to Victoria By The Sea to watch a matinee performance of "License To Renew" at the playhouse. It was a romantic-comedy premiere and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Victoria is a small, quaint seaside village located off route 1-A on the south shore of PEI. It's filled with art studios, gift shops, bed & breakfasts, a tea house and the Island Chocolates where you can buy anything from coffee beans to chocolate lotions. There's a perfect little spot near the visitor's center where we enjoy a nice picnic too.

As we spent our final days on the island beachcombing, locating a couple of geo-caches and feasting on cooked lobster purchased at the Summerside seafood market, the weather turned cooler with rain and high winds.. We'll miss it here, but we won't miss the unpredictable weather. "Oeuvre Prince Edward Island."
On August 7th, we attended a performance of "Highland Storm"at the College of Piping in Summerside.
So far we've cycled roundtrip ........
