We always enjoy our visits to Palm Springs, California. Although it was a short visit of nine days, we managed to hike up to San Jacinto State Park via the Palm Springs Aerial Tram, (elevation 8,500') take in the Thursday night "Street Fair" in downtown Palm Springs, and the Saturday flea market at College of the Desert.
We were pleasantly surprised to find our friends, Ray and Gail Smith, whom we met here three years ago. They introduced us to the domino game, Mexican Train. We said our goodbyes and
headed east to Casa Grande, Arizona.
While in the Phoenix area, I visited my sister, Angie, who has advanced Alzheimer's and spent
a nice afternoon with niece, Cyndie, at her house. Don had a follow-up visit with his doctor in Casa Grande and recieved a clean bill of health. With our dental needs out of the way, and a quick oil change for the Jeep, we started our journey to San Antonio for the holidays. We had overnight stays at the Dream Catcher RV Park (Escapees) in Deming, NM, Fort Stockton, Texas, and Kerrville, Texas arriving at Thousand Trails-Medina Lake on November 22nd.
Daughter, Jennifer and I spent a wonderful time shopping for and preparing a tradional Thanks-
giving feast. It's been a number of years since we'd cooked together back in Connecticut. Later
in the week, Jennifer and grandson, Brandon spent the night with us in our motorhome and was delighted with the friendly "wildlife" at the park. Brandon thoroughly enjoyed feeding them corn treats and they couldn't get enough.
