Birthdays, birthdays, birthdays! Most of the family birthdays occur in the first six
months of the year. Don turned 64 on January 3rd and grandson Brandon turned four years old on January 9th. He requested Spiderman cupcakes (again!!!) and the big present this year was the V-Tech Motion DVD game which he mastered pretty quickly.

Because we're trying to get Don's pain diagnosed, we've extended our stay in San Antonio for at least two more months. He's been unable to do routine chores much less drive over 1,000 miles to Florida. After three months of visits with specialists, several Xrays, MRI's and physical therapy we're confident a diagnosis will be found.

Jen's birthday was February 21st and we enjoyed dinner at The Olive Garden. Di turned 61 on February 27th. Don took her to Salt Lick, a famous BBQ restuarant located on a now retired ranch in Driftwood, Texas. (It was recommended by Rachael Ray) That was followed by a very nice family "birthday dinner" at Jen's house on Saturday. The fun part of all is having had the opportunity this year to watch Brandon truly enjoy all these special occasions.

We haven't had too much occasion to do sightseeing. We did, however, attend the San Antonio Rodeo which is a very big deal in this city. (They ranked #1 rodeo in the country this year.) There are over two weeks of rodeo events and country star celebrities. We also visited the San Jose Mission in downtown San Antonio. While there we attended a mass, which was celebrated in real Mexican style with a Mariachi band, and got a history lesson on the settlement of missions in this area.
