November/December 2009
We spent the month of November slowly making our way south to
Orlando, Florida. Stops included Wilson, NC, Florence and Summerton, SC, Woodbine, GA, and Jacksonville, FL. Not too eventful except for opportunity to ride bikes and Geo-Cache and to get the H1N1 flu shots at a local pharmacy. (This gives us a bit more reassurance while traveling.)

Our good friend Davvie Ruple, who we first met in Colorado in 2005, had a serious surgery while in Jacksonville, FL so we volunteered to babysit their golden retriever, Kelsey for a while. (This was not work..it was such fun!) Davvie's doing very well of late. Complete recovery.

We traveled south along Interstate 10 to Livingston, TX arriving on December 7th. This is the year we had to renew our Texas driver's licenses (can't believe it's been 7 years already) and have the motorhome inspected and registered in Texas. What's really neat is actually going to our "post office" at the Escapees Park in Livingston
and actually picking up our mail in person.. It sure feels like home there.

A detour took us to Tyler, TX to visit with Paul & Gay Ingram for a few days. We stayed at a neat park called #1 RV Park of Tyler which was very convenient for us. (Just off Interstate 20) We were invited to attend Gay's annual Christmas party which included a mega-buffet followed by a fund-raising auction. Just "good fun."
We arrived in San Antonio on December 15th. Our son (Mark) flew in from Boston on the 18th, just missing the blizzard up north, and enjoyed a two week vacation during the holidays. He had fun re-acquainting himself to his nephew Brandon who will be turning 5 on January 9th. The weather was mild making it possible to enjoy the outdoors. We all had a blast at Sea World which was sponsering a Christmas celebration.
