December 2010
We're beginning our 9th year of fulltime RVing. It's sometimes difficult to keep up with regular monthly entries...so now and then we'll post brief entries just to keep ya'll in the loop.

Dec 2010 to Apr 2011 was mostly devoted to our volunteer job as Interpretive Tour Guides at the Spanish Missions National Historical Park in San Antonio, Texas. When our committment ended in April, we relocated to Hill Country RV Resort in New Braunfels which is a German-settled historical town just about ten miles north of San Antonio. Our daughter, Jennifer, is scheduled for complicated back surgery on June 29th, so we made the decision to stay on in order to help her and the family while she recupperates.
Jen's surgery was successful, but, the recovery was a long and difficult
one. One the positive side, we got to spend endless hours with family
bringing our grandson to the library, having lunch with him at school,
attending school events, and celebrating holidays and birthdays. On the negative side we literally lived indoors since the summer of 2011 brought record highs of 100-108. We did manage to spend one day trip tubing down the Comal River in New Braunfels. Tubing is a favorite of the locals and tourists alike.

A visit to the Gulf shore in Rockport, Texas. We really miss the ocean!
