RV There Yet-All Years
We enjoyed an evening of music with Tom
and Mary Tensfeldt at Esker Point Beach
in Noank, CT with "Eight To The Bar." We
had hoped to meet up with more friends
but we understand everyone has busy lives
and busy schedules. Hopefully we can try
again before its time to move on.
One of the favorite places I've always enjoyed
visiting is Gillette's Castle in Haddam, CT.
It is a very unusual stone castle built by the
actor, William Gillette, who is famous for his
role as Sherlock Holmes. This time the entire
castle was open to the public since the state
has restored it and added a visitor's center
and eatery. We enjoyed a picnic and walk
along the many trails on the grounds. Just a
very pleasant day.
In the evening we met up with Jon and Ann
Erickson at their boat at the Mystic Yacht
Club, enjoyed a "grinder" at Avanti's, and
we then drove to Westerly to see their new
house being built. They're hoping to move in
on August 31st.
Our final daytrip in
June was a visit to
Pt. Judith, RI to
feast on RI chowder
and clam cakes. While
traveling the country
we have found nothing
to compare with our
favorite treat from
New England. Opposite
right we are standing in
front of the Pt Judith
lighthouse.
