We spent 3 days in Freeport, Maine where we visited LL.Bean, biked around the city and nearby parks, then headed further south to Scusset Beach in Sagamore, MA. Three days of very cool fall weather called for biking the Cape Cod Canal trail and geo-caching.
Mark drove up one day to spend with us before we head to South Carolina for our volun-
teer job at Hunting Island for Sept 30th-Dec 10th. Then we'll head to Clermont, FL
for a week and if all goes well, onto San Antonio, Texas again for the holidays.
The crisp snap of Autumn is in the air. Warm days...cool nights...time to head south!

We traveled to Hershey, PA Thousand Trails to spend a few days
before heading to South Carolina. All went well until we discovered
one of our tires was dangerously shredding and three had developed
a smooth tread which could have led to a terrible accident. So on the morning of our departure we replaced all four tires for the grand
total of $800+. Ouch! Three days later................................
So here we are at Hunting Island State Park. We've been "on the
job" for almost two weeks and are really enjoying meeting and talking
to campers, sharing our knowledge of the area attractions, as well
as our daily walks and bike rides along the beach. Most first-time campers have described the island as a tropical paradise. We agree!
