Tombstone, Arizona
We made several visits to Tombstone, Arizona. (Approximately
15 miles south of St. David on route 80) It's motto is, "the town that's too tuff to die." It's possible to experience life as it was in the mid-to-late 1800's in a rugged, dangerous western town. Actors dress in period outfits, depicting famous citizens of Tombstone in its hay-day
and perform skits which actually took place in the town's history.
A day trip to one of our favorite towns, Tucson, is always a pleasure. An abundance of Mexican restuarants and Starbucks are a great combination. Just nine miles south of Tucson we visited the Mission San Xavier del Bac which is known as the "white dove of the desert." Founded by the Jesuits in the 1600s, this white adobe church rises high above the desert floor.
