Ya-hoo!
Home of Wall Drug Store (the world's largest) famous for "free
ice water!
The park consists of 240,000 acres of colors, unusual landforms, and wildlife. Beginning in Wall, SD, we followed Badlands Loop Road (route 240) for approximately twenty miles ending in Cactus Flat. The formations reminded Don
of the moon craters (my husband's a Trekkie fan), while it reminded me of the dinasour era.
Both Lakota Indian and homesteaders were
the first to settle. Life was rugged for both
as the buffalo became extinct and existing on prairie was burdensome.
