Our one month stay at El Mirador ended too soon but we took advantage of the pleasant weather to exercise. Don biked the scenic roads
down to the San Carlos marina while I briskly walked most days up to the the scenic overview El Mirador. (which translated means "The
Lookout.")
Don introduced me to geo-caching. It's like a scavenger hunt only with the use of a GPS navigator. Thousands of these caches are hidden
all over the world. We've located them in California, Arizona and now in Mexico. Items are placed in a container and hidden under
rocks, on mountain tops, in the desert, and various other locations. It's up to an individual to seek out the "treasures" and document
your findings via the internet. (It's also a great way to get in your exercise.) We hiked in the Nacapule canyon just outside the
city of San Carlos.
