March-April 2009
It's been a very interesting winter here in San Antonio. We arrived on December 12th and immediately began the search for a diagnosis for Don's pain. After countless doctors, specialists, X-rays, MRI's, and physical therapy we found the dianosis to be
rotator-cuff tendenitis and polymyalgia reumatica. We left San Antonio on Monday, April 13th, for Lake Tawakoni in Point, Texas (just east of Dallas) for a 7 day stay. We visited Paul and Gay Ingram in Big Sandy with whom we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary on April 19th.
I can't say it's been all bad. We've had the chance to spent time with our daughter, son-in-
law and grandson. Brandon, now almost 4 1/2, who has actually added 1 1/2" to his height, right before our eyes! He's mastered his vocabulary, motor, and art skills at his new learning center, (he can put a 24 piece puzzle together in record time!) and has added cooking with Mimi to his new list of interests. (we make the most delicious peanut butter cookies) We've celebrated Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, three birthdays, and Easter together. It's been a real joy to be staying so close to family for a longer stay......but.....it's time to move on.
Here are some highlights......

Easter Sunday was spent in San Antonio with family
Look...I found one!
Say......Cheese!
We left San Antonio the day after Easter. Our journey brought us to Lake Tawakoni about
60 miles west of Big Sandy, Texas. We spent a week traversing back and forth visiting Paul and Gay Ingram. They treated us to an "ol fashioned" Texas BBQ and we, in turn, invited them to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with us. Sunday, April 19th turned out to be quite a surprise for us at a the Texas Traditions restuarant in Gilmar, Texas. They had arranged a
celebration dinner along with dessert (yummy!) and even included a few of our favorite songs on the jukebox. And we thank them so much for the wonderful memory.
